Woodborough Parish Council

A parish council is a local authority in England that represents the interests of the people in a civil parish. Woodborough Parish Council comprises 11 volunteer members who have been elected or co-opted to serve the interests of the village. They meet monthly and have responsibility for the village hall, the cemetery, the playing field, governors field, the tennis courts and the allotments. They also give their view on planning applications but do not make final decisions.
Residents are welcome to attend meetings and do have an opportunity to speak if they wish.

Rotary Club of Mapperley & Arnold

We aim to promote friendship and fellowship within the club open to all adults over the age of 18. To serve the community helping those less able to help themselves. The Rotary Club of Mapperley was formed in May 1986 with some founding members still very active in our enthusiastic club. The name of the Club was changed to The Rotary Club of Mapperley and Arnold in 2012 to reflect the area in which the Club operates. We currently have 33 members and we are continuously seeking new members, people who wish to participate in helping their local community. We meet weekly to fulfil the first Rotary guiding principles of developing friendships and fellowships as an opportunity for service to our local community, at national and international levels.
